The Director of Financial Planning for Cary Stamp & Company recently passed the comprehensive Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) certification exam. Lori Colclasure, who is also a Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA™), now officially can use the CFP® designation. She supervises strategies for Cary Stamp & Company’s wealth management clients in estate planning, income taxes and risk management.
CFP designation is the standard of excellence in the financial planning industry. CFPprofessionals have completed extensive training and a comprehensive course of study at a university offering a financial planning curriculum approved by the CFP Board. Topics covered in the exam include financial planning, tax planning, employee benefits and retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.
CFP candidates also have substantial hands-on experience requirements. They must provide several years of financial planning services to clients before achieving the CFP designation, and are held to rigorous ethical standards, upholding the principles of integrity, objectivity, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence as outlined in CFP Board’s Code of Ethics. Only those financial planners who have fulfilled all the certification requirements can display the CFP® trademark, which represents a high level of competency, ethics and professionalism. CFP professionals are held to a fiduciary standard of care, meaning they are required to act in your best interest.
In addition to being a CFP, CPA and CDFA, Ms. Colclasure holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations. Colclasure received a Bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. and a Master’s degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University. She has worked at Cary Stamp & Company for more than 4 years.
“We congratulate Lori on her CFP designation. She’ll add to our stellar team of certified professionals ready to serve our clients’ financial and wealth management needs,” said Cary Stamp, founder and CEO of Cary Stamp & Company.
